The name of my blog is a play on the word "ambivalent", which I thought I might define for my dear readers:
ambivalent
adj 1: characterized by a mixture of opposite feelings or attitudes; "she felt ambivalent about his proposal"; "an ambivalent position on rent control" 2: uncertain or unable to decide about what course to follow; "was ambivalent about having children"
See the irony? It's fun, I think. My "when it rains" post is certainly about the "vent" - thanks for indulging me. End of vocabulary lesson (I'm on SPRING BREAK, for cryin' out loud!)
Second - is it sad to you as well that I have the glamorous, enviable schedule of a school teacher with a week off in the middle of March and my focus is "running errands?" This is pathetic. If I were a friend of mine, I would be berating me.
Third - if anyone has seen "Donnie Darko" and can explain the time travel aspect to me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Did it all really happen? Did he change the future (or the past?...) I love the movie, enjoy it, but trying to help Mitch understand it, well, I realize I don't wholly get it myself.
Happy Wednesday!

carlen,
i'd be happy to talk donnie darko with you. i've seen it about 20 times, and it's STILL confusing to me.
however, when i visited www.donniedarko.com, i found some illuminating puzzle pieces. it's cool. there's much more to the movie than you see in the movie. the website should be mandatory.
I'm so in the darko. Gotta see this. Probably not one to grade papers and watch, eh?
bananie - the site rocks - i was on for an hour, but stalled out on level 3 "your time is up, donnie." guess mine was too? thanks for showing this to me.
flib- no paper grading while watching this movie. no talking, no getting up to refill your drink, no trips to the bathroom without pausing the film. F-O-C-U-S or you will miss something. you'll freaking love it. can't wait to share it.
