Today is my birthday - I thought it would be cool to see my birthdate as a blog day - so I'll write a quick note. As much as I was depressed about this birthday, dreading it, losing my oomph to celebrate it about a week ago... it's hard to stay gloomy when SOOO many people love you by remembering your birthday! Calling, sending presents, making cakes, calling AGAIN - it doesn't matter that I'm not going "out" on my birthday because well, it's true, after about age 10 what's the big deal about birthdays, and yknow, after my first four days with students this week, I am f---ing TIRED and I just want to drink this yummy frozen marg I made myself and read the unread magazines that have piled up since I started school again and veg. It's all good... and if I have a headache tomorrow? Well, it's Friday and I'll get through it.
Thank you to Steve & Melissa, Jeanne, Mitch, Jay, Darcie, Katie, my bro Jason, Mom & Dad & Nana (of course - thought they won't read this), um... Amie, LIL - good grief - sent me KICK ASS shoes I never could've bought myself AND just had a BABY GIRL YEEHAH!!! little Katherine :) - um, yeah, there's no room for pouty "I'm old" talk. Too many people loved me today. So that's pretty cool. I hope I'll remember it past today.
And by the way - if anyone cares about my health - I HAVE really really really quit smoking - and it's crazy - I miss having that thing to DO - if you can understand that - but the taste is like garbage to me, seriously, and I can't do it, even if I WANT to - it's so strange. But so great to have it out of my system for real. (Now what?)

Awww....Thanks! I'm SO IMPRESSED that you REMEMBERED! Now THAT is impressive. Wow. I mean, wow. Because, I can't remember how you would even KNOW my birthday...hmmm...I don't think I ever told you... um... HEY! Wait a minute! Are you LYING? Did you really NOT know it was my birthday and you were just SAYING that?... Geez - how do you sleep at night? Surely you know where liars go...
