Crunch Time

It's here. I'm taking a break from cleaning the apartment, hands-and-knees scrubbing, after four hours of writing my homework assignments for LA. (Fun thing, followed by no-fun-at-all thing.) I had a little breakdown yesterday, just overwhelmed by, well, everything. As of 3:00 tomorrow, I live - - nowhere. I have no address. My mail will be forwarded to my parents in SC. (THAT hasn't been necessary in a LOOOONG time.) There was not an ounce of sadness in my tears yesterday - it was all expectation and exhaustion. I guess, the big "E's" of my life right now. I just need to get through these next two days of busy-ness. I fly out Thursday morning, and I really feel like right now, as soon as I check my bags on Thursday morning, the weight of the world will be lifted and I will be able to feel genuine excitement about what I'm doing. I feel it deep down - it's there - I just can't let myself enjoy it until I'm THERE. And I will be 48 hours from now.

Doing those writing assignments today - bliss. I can't wait. I'll post here and on my Myspace - myspace.com/carlensvw. Have you been there? It's silly, and I love it. I'll be MOST honest here; since my students read the mypace blog, I can't talk about my hopes to find gainful employment in LA on that one. You understand, I'm sure. :)

I am starting off my LA experience by going to the the 3AM showing of that crazy Pirates movie at the El Capitan Theater - yeah, the midnight show was sold out. I really hope to have many things to share with you all soon. Thank you for your prayers. I covet them. :)
