The day that I have managed to successfully avoid for 5 years now finally came. Today a school bus drove up beside my car, at least two miles away from the school, and students of mine, saw me, smoking. Oh. My. God.
So let's reason here. I am an adult. Smoking is not illegal. I was not at school (not on school grounds.) But. One of the kids that saw me is THE biggest smarta** bigmouth in any of my classes. He is going to be smug with knowledge tomorrow, and I have decided that it's best for me to play the "it's none of your business" card, as one friend counseled today. After all, I certainly don't want to know what THEY do outside of school. It just strikes me as INCREDIBLY ironic that tomorrow is "Kick Butt" day where they show anti-smoking videos and have posters up and oh my gosh I think I'm going to vomit trying to play it cool.
I must go to the porch for a smoke to mull over my strategy.

so...how did it go?
in such suspense that i'm smoking with a sinus infection...
Oh, sweet little sick girl. It went FINE - not a word out of the boy, and no innuendo or weirdness from any kid all "Kick Butt"-day long! I don't know HOW I got out of that one - or if the consequence is still to come... I'm officially on my guard.
